🍷 Cave de Turckheim – Gewurztraminer ‘Sables et Galets’
France | Alsace | Gewurztraminer
Style: Still White Wine | Aromatic and Off-Dry
Winemaking: Fermented slowly at cool temperatures to preserve Gewurztraminer’s exotic aromatics, followed by ageing on fine lees to add texture and roundness without overshadowing its natural perfume.
Farming: Sourced from vineyards planted on sandy and gravelly soils (‘sables et galets’) near Turckheim, where warm days and cool nights allow for full ripeness and expressive aromatics.
🌸 An exotic Alsatian white—fragrant, textured, and unmistakably Gewurztraminer.
👁 In the Glass:
Golden straw with brilliant clarity—rich and inviting.
👃 On the Nose:
Intensely perfumed. Bursting with aromas of rose petal, lychee, candied ginger, and tropical fruit, with subtle hints of clove and orange blossom.
👅 On the Palate:
Lush and rounded. Layers of ripe peach, lychee, and sweet spice glide over a soft, slightly off-dry texture. Balanced by gentle acidity and a whisper of minerality, the finish is long, floral, and silky.
🍽 Food Pairing:
Perfect with spicy Asian cuisine, duck with plum sauce, Munster cheese, or Moroccan tagines. A wine that shines with aromatic and boldly flavoured dishes.
⏳ Ageing Potential:
Enjoy now for its vibrant aromatics or cellar for up to 5 years to develop further complexity.
✨ Why You’ll Love It:
‘Sables et Galets’ is Gewurztraminer at its expressive best—opulent, floral, and full of personality. A quintessential Alsace white that’s both luxurious and full of charm.
