Ruadh Maor 14 Year Old Chorlton 57.3% 70cl
A fascinating and lesser spotted indie bottling here from Chorlton – Ruadh Maor is the name for heavily peated Glenturret expressions. One of Scotland’s smallest makers and incredibly traditional in its approach, this 14-year-old release was drawn from a bourbon barrel, one of just a handful of casks filled each year with spirit peated to 80ppm. In 2025 Glenturret announced it wouldn’t peat any more barley – making this bottling all the more collectable. It offers ripe stone fruit on the nose and meaty notes on the palate, all wrapped up in bold, powerful smoke. Delicious indeed.
