McConnell’s Irish Whiskey has deep roots dating back to 1776, making it one of Ireland’s oldest whiskey brands. Originally crafted in Belfast, McConnell’s was renowned for its smooth, high-quality whiskey. After a long hiatus, the brand was revived, bringing back its legacy while embracing modern innovation. Today, McConnell’s continues to honour its heritage while pushing boundaries in whiskey craftsmanship.
McConnell’s Cognac Cask Finish Whiskey is a blend of Irish malt and grain whiskeys, aged for five years in first-fill bourbon casks before undergoing a finishing period in Cognac casks. This unique finishing process imparts a luxurious sweetness and unexpected depth, setting it apart from traditional Irish whiskeys. The Cognac casks introduce layers of soft fruit, gentle spice, and a velvety finish, creating a whiskey that is both refined and complex.
