Château Moulin Guillaumat is a small Bordeaux producer crafting approachable, fruit-driven wines that reflect the classic Right Bank style. Based in Bordeaux, the estate focuses on traditional grape varieties and straightforward winemaking, producing wines designed for early enjoyment and excellent value.
Château Moulin Guillaumat 2023 is a Merlot-led blend, typically composed of around 75% Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc completing the cuvée. The 2023 vintage in Bordeaux delivered ripe fruit with good balance, thanks to warm conditions moderated by periods of freshness, resulting in wines that are both generous and accessible.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve fruit purity and softness. The wine sees minimal oak influence, allowing its vibrant fruit profile to remain the focus while maintaining a supple, easy-drinking structure.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with aromas of red and dark fruit – cherry, plum, and berry compote – alongside subtle hints of spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a soft, rounded texture, offering juicy fruit flavours, gentle tannins, and a smooth, approachable finish. The style is classic yet modern Bordeaux: structured but not heavy, making it ideal for everyday drinking.
This versatile red pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled meats, beef dishes, duck, or simple pasta with tomato sauces. It also works well with your cheese and charcuterie offering, particularly with mild cheeses and cured meats.
