Fabulous cru Beaujolais. It’s more Pinot Noir than classic Gamay, with bright, almost silky red and black berry fruit with some spice too both on the nose and fleshy, structured palate. Worked brilliantly with roast chicken and all the trimmings! On special offer until end of the year too.
“The 2023 Moulin-à-Vent is more forward and cherry-flavored than the Morgon, featuring notes of maraschino and Morello cherries, though perhaps this doesn’t have the same degree of complexity. The palate is ripe on the entry, quite sweet and fleshy, with gentle grip and ample fruit tones on the finish to keep the customer satisfied. Drink this over five or six years.” 90pts Neal Martin Vinous March 2025
