Tasting Note

Lovely cherry and baked blackberry aromas with notes of smoky bacon, earth and aniseed balls. The palate has a fresh style, lots of nice fruit, restrained and savoury. A lighter style of bordeaux, with a degree of complexity and approachability. One to be drunk over the next few years.

Producer

“The history of Château Léoville Barton began in 1722, when Irishman Thomas Barton moved from Ireland to the Bordeaux region, where he established a successful trading company. His grandson bought Château Langoa and part of the Léoville estate in 1826. Anthony Barton lived in the beautiful 18th century Château Langoa and made two wines, Château Léoville Barton and Château Langoa-Barton. Now the company is run by Lillian Barton Sartoriusthe and owns 51 hectares of vineyard at Chateau Léoville-Barton which lie close to the Gironde, sandwiched between the water and Chateau Talbot.
