The 2023 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is classy, elegant and polished. Soft contours and lifted aromatics convey total finesse. Orchard fruit, lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers, mint, white pepper and acacia are all very nicely lifted. This is an especially refined rendition of Hyde.

Hyde Vineyard is on the Napa side of the Carneros district. Cool air flowing through the Petaluma gap helps keep temperatures cool. Here the clonal selection is mainly Old Wente field (65% and planted in 1997 and 1999) and a selection of Calera that Larry Hyde planted in 2014. Native yeast fermentation and malolactic in barrel with regular battonage. 20 months ageing in 20% new Taransaud Beaune French oak barrels.
