Giuliana Vicini was born in 1925 to a patriarchal family, at a time when young ladies were a bit of a burden for their families, who had to marry them into good families and have a dowry. At 95 years old, Giuliana left her granddaughter, Chiara Ciavolich, her vineyards. She did it on one condition, which was that the wine produced was not called Ciavolich but Vicini – after her grandmother Donna Ernestina Vicini.
