🍷 d’Arenberg – The Footbolt Shiraz: A Bold Classic from South Australia’s McLaren Vale 🇦🇺
Australia, South Australia | Shiraz
Powerful yet poised, The Footbolt Shiraz is a flagship red from d’Arenberg that delivers on every level—flavour, structure, and character. Sourced from old-vine McLaren Vale fruit, this is a richly layered Shiraz that evolves beautifully in the glass and over time.
🍇 Fragrant, Spiced & Earthy:
The nose is lifted and expressive, with vivid notes of red cherry, cracked pepper, and baking spice. As it opens, deeper aromas emerge—mulberry, black plum, and earthy hints of soot and smoke. On the palate, the wine is bright and balanced, with juicy acidity, elegant fruit weight, and firm mineral tannins that lead to a long, structured finish.
🌱 Rooted in McLaren Vale Tradition:
Named after a legendary racehorse, The Footbolt showcases d’Arenberg’s heritage and dedication to traditional winemaking—foot treading, basket pressing, and minimal intervention to allow the vineyard to speak through the wine.
🍽️ Perfect with Bold, Hearty Dishes:
Pair with beef and pepper stew, smoky barbecue ribs, duck cassoulet, grilled portobello mushrooms, steak frites or spicy chili. A match made for rich flavours and robust textures.
✨ Why You’ll Love It:
The Footbolt Shiraz is a classic McLaren Vale red—vibrant, structured, and full of personality. For those who crave bold fruit, savoury spice, and a wine that ages with grace, this bottle is a surefire staple.
