A historic vermouth brand, Dolin has been made to the same recipe in the Alpine hills around Chambery since 1821, and was awarded the only Appellation d’Origine for vermouth in 1932. The Chambery style flourished in the 19th and early 20th century, but Dolin is now the last remaining producer of Vermouth de Chambery.
An exquisite aperitif made with strawberries from the Alps is how Chambéryzette is described. It’s a blend of strawberries of the Rhone-Alps region with a unique Vermouth de Chambery designed for this aperitif. Created by Rosalie Dolin in 1902, Chamberyzette had its heyday on the terraces of Lyon and Parisian cafés, and, in the earliest of France’s ski resorts. The success of this Chambéry-fraise furthered the reputation of the Maison Dolin abroad. Still to this day, this mildly sweet aperitif is revered for its conveyance of the aromatics of wild strawberries of the Alps.
