Craigellachie 16 Year Old Tri Carragh 54.4% 70cl

Craigellachie 16 Year Old Tri Carragh 54.4% 70cl

Bold, robust Craigellachie is celebrated for its dense, earthy signature profile, inherent in the whisky thanks to its worm tub condensers. This 16-year-old release from Tri Carragh brings a slightly fresher perspective to the table. Distilled back in August 2009 and initially matured in a second-fill ex-bourbon barrel, it was reracked in June 2024 into a refill bourbon cask. The results? Deliciously indulgent. The nose is like stepping into a bakery with apple turnover and crystallised sugar notes, before Victoria sponge and tinned fruit syrup arrives on the palate. All that sweetness balances brilliantly with the signature Craigellachie oomph. Marvellous.
