Cigar Malt 2010 Fruitful Spirits 53.4% 70cl

A rich, indulgent Speyside single malt, this is the third batch of Fruitful Spirits’ Cigar Malt bottlings. Distilled in March 2010 at an unnamed distillery, it was initially aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon, ahead of a four-year second maturation in first-fill PX hogsheads. There’s all manner of deep sherried character here, with dark chocolate, honey-roasted nuts and tobacco spice notes. It’s been released without chill-filtration or added colour.

Tasting notes from Fruitful Spirits:

Nose: Toasted barley, fresh cigar leaf, honeyed dates and spiced apricot compote

Palate: Milk chocolate coated raisins, Turkish delight, orange oils and soft ginger spice

Finish: Dark cocoa, roasted pecans, sweet tobacco and gentle earthy truffle
