I have drunk this wine twice recently and its just delicious, bright and fresh with an almost gentle creamy charcater on the finish. Incredibly food versatile. The wines from Galicia are just so diverse and interesting and a far cry from the powerful oaky alcoholic wines Spain has been famous for.
“The village red 2024 Valtuille Vino de Villa comes from plots from different places and the single-vineyards he couldn’t bottle in 2024 (Villegas) given the low yields after the hailstorm that hit the village at the end of June. This is usually quite floral and aromatic, and 2024 is no exception. The wine is clean and precise and opens up in the glass nicely. It fermented in plastic bins separated by plot, matured in 500-liter barrels separately for one year and then was blended at the end. It has good ripeness and development of aromas and flavors, with 12.97% alcohol, a pH of 3.7 and 5.1 grams of acidity. It has more finesse, perhaps provided by the grapes from Villegas this year. This is a great vintage for this wine. 7,108 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2025.” 95pts Luis Gutiérrez The Wine Advocate 10/26
