Admiral Rodney is one of the world’s finest rums. Made from 100% continuous still rums, Admiral Rodney is St. Lucia Distillers flagship in terms of age and complexity. The rum commemorates the English Admiral Rodney who famously “broke the line” and vanquished the French fleet at the Battle of the Saints in 1782.
As further stocks of aged rum come on line they are adding older rums into the blend. Currently the Admiral Rodney HMS Royal Oak blend contains rums of 7-12 years. During 2009 Admiral Rodney won Gold at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in London and Gold at the World Spirits Competition in Germany and the Rum Trophy at the International Spirits Challenge.
HMS Princessa
The Admiral Rodney rum range from St. Lucia Distillers was inspired by the naval victory of Admiral George Rodney, who ensured British domination of the Caribbean after he defeated the French at Battle of the Saints in 1782. Each rum is named after ships that distinguished themselves in the battle, with this edition being named the ‘HMS Princessa’. The HMS Princessa blend contains Coffey still distilled rums aged for five to nine years and matured in bourbon casks and Port casks.
Tasting Notes
Honeyed raisins, green tobacco and muscovado sugar lead, with hints of tropical spice, dry oak and creme brûlée in the backdrop.
