The 2025 Terre del Conte Roero Arneis shows more generous aromas and pronounced structure than normal due to lower, more concentrated yields and an early summer which encouraged greater ripening.
Cantine Povero’s organic Roero estate, where Langhe meets Monferrato, spans 35ha of sandy, well-drained soils ideally suited to Arneis.
Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before cool fermentation in stainless steel. The wine ages 2–3 months on fine lees to round the palate, then is bottled without fining to preserve its tactile freshness.
Arneis offers a captivating bouquet of fresh hay, peach, pear and lime, underpinned by persistent almond notes. Cantine Povero’s stewardship and organic practices yield a wine of both purity and depth.
Pairing Suggestions: Light appetizers, pureed soup, light fish dishes, vegetarian pasta, salads, Chinese food (chicken and broccoli in a brown sauce, fried rice), Thai food (eggplant in a basil sauce).
Tasting Note: Pale straw with floral and fruity aromas of white peach, pippin apple and pineapple; the palate is dry, delicate and mineral-driven, finishing long with an almond flourish.
