From a tiny northwest-facing plot at 515m, this wine is the essence of Bardallo: ethereal, mineral-driven, and finely tuned.
El Bardallo’s chalk and limestone impart a crystalline acidity and refined tannic frame, making this one of José’s most poised crus.
Winemaking: 95% Tempranillo and 5% Viura are fermented whole-cluster in concrete and aged in large neutral oak for 10 months, allowing the site’s chalky soils to shine.
Pairing Suggestions: Steak tartare, goat’s cheese tart, or roast quail with herbs.
Tasting Note: Wild strawberry, crushed mint and wet stone; the palate is taut and energetic, with a long, saline finish.
Origin: Rioja, Spain
Alcohol: 13.0%
Blend: Tempranillo, Viura
