Cantina di Gambellara was the first cooperative winery in the province of Vicenza, established in 1947 on the foundations of the previous co-op, Enopolio di Gambellara, which was founded in 1920. It’s located in the eponymous village of Gambellara on the border with Verona, in the final stretch of the Lessini Mountains at around 250-500 metres above sea level. The gentle landscape is covered with vines and is characterised by a lush valley with several streams and an extinct volcano with black basalts.
This wine is fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve its vibrant fruit character and fresh acidity. The cool fermentation and early bottling help retain bright aromatics and a crisp, zesty profile typical of northern Italian Pinot Grigio.
Tasting Note: Pale straw in the glass, this 2023 Pinot Grigio offers bright citrus and green apple aromas with touches of white peach and blossom. The palate is crisp and refreshing with lively acidity, subtle stone fruit, and a clean, mineral-tinged finish that pairs beautifully with seafood or light dishes.
