At the heart of Dönnhoff’s acclaim lies the Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle, a vineyard of almost mythical status. Its steep, sun-drenched slopes, layered with black-grey slate and volcanic soils, are the cradle of some of the finest Rieslings ever made.
Every detail of the winemaking process reflects Dönnhoff’s pursuit of perfection. Grapes are meticulously handpicked, berry by berry, with only the finest botrytis-affected fruit making the cut. The juice is gently pressed in traditional basket presses and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve its purity and finesse.
Tasting Note: A masterclass in luxurious sweetness and mineral precision. Each sip unveils layers of exotic mango, candied citrus, and golden honey, balanced by a vibrant acidity and a crystalline, mineral edge. Its velvety texture glides effortlessly across the palate, leaving a symphony of flavour that lingers like a sonnet. Crafted from hand-selected, perfectly ripened grapes, this is a wine destined for legendary status and decades of ageing potential.
