For Bartholomew Broadbent, wine is about family, friendships, and adventure. He fell in love with California’s North Coast wines, especially a Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards owned by a family he’s known for 35 years.
Grapes harvested early morning, sorted, and gently destemmed. Cold-soaked for colour and flavour extraction, fermented in small stainless steel tanks, then aged 10 months in 80% American and 20% French oak. Aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and black cherry with cedar, vanilla, and sweet tobacco. Medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with rich dark fruit flavours, blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, and well-integrated oak. Structured tannins lead to a lingering fruit and spice finish.
Tasting Note: This cabernet sauvignon shows a deep, rich ruby red colour with intense black fruit aromas of blackberry and black cherries. hints of eucalyptus, bay leaf and mint, offer a fresh, earthy complexity. The palate is bold and concentrated, with flavours of ripe blackberry and plum. a long finish with layers of dark chocolate, coffee, and a touch of minerality.
