The Gibbston vineyard’s unique north-to-south orientation maximises sun exposure, ensuring even ripening. Low yields in 2021 resulted in concentrated, vibrant fruit, while gentle fermentation and careful oak ageing preserved its purity and elegance.
Each bottle is a testament to the cool climate and the artistry of winemaker Jen Parr.
Tasting Note: A gem from the heart of Central Otago, the 2021 Valli Gibbston Pinot Noir captivates with a bright garnet hue and intoxicating aromas of plum, mulled spices, rosemary, and graphite. The palate is equally mesmerising, offering layers of dark red fruits like cherry, blackberry, and mulberry, complemented by hints of baking spices, dried florals, and cedar. Its signature Gibbston tannins are silky yet structured, perfectly balanced by a lively acidity. This is a Pinot Noir of finesse and depth, ideal for drinking now or cellaring until 2030.
