Château Montrose is one of Saint-Estèphe’s celebrated Second Growths (the youngest estate), beautifully positioned overlooking the Gironde estuary. Its gravel terraces and clay soils provide an excellent foundation for Cabernet Sauvignon. La Dame de Montrose is the estate’s second wine, created in 1983, and offers a more approachable expression of the Montrose terroir while retaining the estate’s precision. The 2020 vintage benefited from an early growing season, a hot, dry summer and excellent late-season ripening, producing concentrated fruit with freshness and structure.
Tasting Note: Nose of black cherry, cassis and blueberry with cedar and subtle spice. on the palate it is silky and finely textured, with juicy dark fruits carrying on from the nose, precise tannins and a long, fresh mineral finish.
