Montepulciano, the iconic “Italian Stallion” exudes complexity and strength. Yields are kept extremely low to achieve perfect physiological ripeness for natural concentration, complexity and an impressive flavour profile that expresses the soul of Hans’ winegrowing.
2019 was another stunning growing season, confirming Marlborough as one of the world’s best wine regions, perfect for the late ripening, mighty Monte.
No cost and time spared in the vineyard, spur pruned, extensive shoot thinning, with rigorous bunch thinning to bring out the essence of this variety.
Real elegance, power, sumptuousness, immensity, and emotion is transmitted by tasting this nectar.
Tasting Note: Alluring, complex and multi-layered nose of dark-fruit. Aromas of dark cherries, blueberries and plums with hints of violets, chocolate and spices. Juicy and tantalising acidity with rounded tannins. Real elegance, power, sumptuousness, immensity and emotion is transmitted by tasting this nectar. Enormously long finish, showing a wine great in its youth but with the necessary structure and balance for great longevity.
