Age-Worthy Spanish Icon to Drink Now or Keep
Pintia lies on the banks of the Douro River, within the Toro D.O. region. The extremely cold winters and hot summers influence its complex soils, which are mainly known for their significant pebble content.
The harvest took place from September 20th to October 7th, during a vintage with more rain. Despite this, the grapes already showed great promise. The tannins are structured and rich with fruit, making this a must-try vintage.
It was a very balanced year, with tenser wines, in which we increased the new barrel effect (5 %), while continuing to reduce the toasts in Toro.
This wine is suitable for drinking now, but it can be aged for up to 15 years if stored in the ideal conditions (12-14 ºC and 60 % relative humidity).
Tasting Note: The 2018 Pintia boasts a distinctively fruity profile, yet it holds an air of mystery and allure. Its velvety smooth texture makes it a delightful indulgence, while its remarkable finish lingers on the palate.
