Produced exclusively from the darkest of red grapes, the Alicante Bouschet sourced from the Carapetos vineyard – 25 years old at harvest. Since 2010, yields for this vineyard block have averaged a meagre 4.03t/Ha, but contributing significantly to concentration.
Tasting Note: Complex dark fruit, spicey with nutty black chocolate. Its warm notes of cocoa, tobacco and black fruit are finely balanced with fresh tones of mint and eucalyptus.
Pairing Suggestion: Serve at 12-14ºc. Best paired with local sheep’s cheese, almond or pecan tart, chocolate mousse or dark bitter chocolate. Also delicious with red berries.
Region: Alentejo, Portugal
Blend: Alicante Bouschet
