Château Meyney is one of Saint-Estèphe’s historic estates, with a superb vineyard position close to the Gironde and distinctive gravel and clay soils. The estate is particularly known for its significant Petit Verdot component, which contributes colour, spice and structure to the wines. The 2016 vintage was exceptional in Bordeaux, with a warm, dry growing season and an excellent late summer and autumn, resulting in beautifully ripe and concentrated fruit while retaining freshness.
Tasting Note: Expect ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, with notes of violet, cedar, graphite and subtle spice. The palate is full and structured but beautifully balanced, with ripe, polished tannins, excellent concentration and a long, savoury mineral finish.
Origin: Bordeaux, France
