Pontet-Canet is a highly regarded Fifth Growth of Pauillac, renowned for its gravelly terroir and its pioneering approach to biodynamic viticulture. The estate has built a strong reputation for wines that combine purity, energy, polished tannins and depth. The 2011 vintage followed a very warm and dry spring, a cooler summer and a favourable late-season Indian summer, allowing the grapes to achieve good ripeness and freshness.
Tasting Note: The wine shows perfumed blackcurrant, redcurrant and dark cherry, with layers of violet, cedar, spice and graphite. Silky and beautifully integrated, it has juicy fruit, refined tannins and a long, saline finish.
Region: Bordeaux, France
Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot
