Benrinnes 13 Year Old Ruthrie The Wanderer… In Bordeaux – 57.2% ABV

Bottled by the folks at Brave New Spirits as part of their Cask Noir series, this expression sees Speyside single malt Benrinnes paired with a 1st Fill Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Wine Barrique. Tasting note:

Nose: Thick sticky raspberry jam notes, along with apple strudel,  a fragrant potpourri, browned orange peel, and nutmeg.

Palate: Bold and mouth-filling with more jam – plum this time – glacé cherries, almond, earthy cinnamon and a dash of Turkish delight.

Finish: Long, warming and toasty.
