Rifle Range Road which runs parallel to Krondorf Road, is in the heart of the Valley Floor and winds its way up the hills to Kaiser Stuhl National Park. The old rifle range is long gone, but the farming land and vineyards that have long been part of the landscape are still there.
Although this wine shows typical varietal and regional characteristics, it also has the Rockford philosophy at its core – a rich, soft and full flavoured wine made using traditional winemaking techniques and attitudes.
Dry conditions and higher than average temperatures in the lead up to the 2019 harvest gave us a shorter and more intense vintage. This resulted in significantly lower yields, but the intensity of colour and flavour are the great benefit of the vintage.
Tasting Note: With generous, ripe blackcurrant, cocoa and tobacco aromas, the 2019 Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon makes a sophisticated statement. Its depth of flavour and lingering finish make it an exquisite treat, creating an unparalleled pleasure for those seeking a unique wine tasting experience.
