The Cuvée for Kalk & Kreide combines Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes from the best vineyard plots in Saulheim.
The idea here was to create as natural a “white Burgundy” as possible with a long, full yeast, storage and minimal addition of sulphur.
“Strong nose of butterscotch, smoke, citrus fruits and white almonds. Cool and dense in the mouth, almost plump, the strong acidity provides a great framework for a very long wine experience. Despite its youth, it is already wonderful to enjoy!” – falstaff Wine Guide, 92+ Points
“I love the interplay of fresh nut and brioche character with creaminess and lemony freshness in this revolutionary dry white for the Rheinhessen region. The kind of structure you expect from a good white Burgundy. Lovely harmony at the silky finish. The first vintage of this wine. A cuvee of 55% chardonnay and 45% Weissburgunder that was matured for 9 months sur lie. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.” – JamesSuckling.com, 92 Points
