A classic “Rhine Riesling” that carries the lightness, elegance and minerality of the limestone floors.
After selective harvesting in several stages, the berries were lightly crushed in the cellar and left in their juice for 12 hours to achieve better aroma extraction. The must was fermented with natural yeasts from the vineyard for 6 weeks in 90% stainless steel and 10% older wooden barrels (German oak) and bottled in March 2023 after 5 months of full yeast storage.
“Good tension between cool herbal aromas and ripe mirabelle character. The crisp lemony acidity is married to a generous body and some chalky minerality on the medium-bodied palate. Good length and a precise harmony at the long finish.” – JamesSuckling.com, 91 points
“You’re always amazed when you try these wonderful estate wines. When it comes to value for money, they are simply unbeatable. Wonderfully fresh and citric scent of lemon and grapefruit, combined with delicate spice and wonderful minerality. This is a real radiant man who gives enormous pleasure. On the palate with a nice glaze and crisp acidity, it radiates its joie de vivre. While the beautifully ripened fruit is still in the foreground at the start, the minerality comes into its own towards the finish.” – Max Gerstl Wine Selection, 18/20
