A wonderful cherry, blackcurrant and spice galore with a delicate cigar smoke.

On the pilgrim road to Compostela, deep in south-west France, Pierre Dabadie’s family have been making wine in Viella for generations. Now with 16 hectares of vines managed with a focus on sustainability, the harvest is hand picked and hand sorted before vinification. The soils are clay loam with gravel and the best grapes are from the south facing slopes which are mainly planted with tannat, as well as cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. A range of white wines are produced, including the top cuvée, Talion, based on petit courbu, with no added sulphites.
