Ribeira Sacra is one of the most exciting regions to emerge from Spain in recent years.
This is the very impressive Lacima (Spanish for ‘the top’), not only a reference to some of the highest altitude (700m high) and oldest vines (50-100 years old) of the vineyard but also by far the most natural and complex wine produced by this estate.
100% Mencia fermented with indigenous yeast in 500L open French oak barrels and aged another 19 months in old French oak barrels.
Tasting Note: Enticing aromas of new tan leather, cedar wood, goji berries, black tea; and fresh raspberries and blueberries with soft sweet tannins on the finish – this is a wine to open at lunchtime and enjoy at 7pm in the evening.
Origin: Galicia, Spain
