Tulbagh is a warm growing zone located away from maritime influences, so the Dorringtons get round this by hand-harvesting at night to maintain the freshness that is key to Chenin’s complexity. 40% fermented in new 300 litre French and Hungarian oak barrels with the rest in one year old barrels.
The oak influence is in the background, with rich, semi-tropical stone fruits to the fore, hints of green apple in the background and a distant note of spice. Full bodied and delicious.
