Amrut was established in 1948 and is still owned by the Jagdale family. They were the first Indian distillery to release a single malt and they continue to make whisky that can rival that from Scotland. Due to its location, Amrut enjoys an accelerated maturation of its whiskies (3-4 times that of Scotland) however the Angelβs share can be 15% per year. The distillery takes its name from the elixir of life in Indian mythology β βAmrutβ.
Amrut Two Indies is an elegant and rich combination of rums from the East and West Indies, forming a bond between these two historic rum-producing nations. Two Indies is made from rums distilled and aged at the Amrut distillery in Karnataka, India, and the finest rums sourced from the Caribbean Indies – specifically Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados.
Tasting Notes
Amrut Two Indies rum has notes of rich tropical fruits, then giving way to powerful clove and cinnamon spices before finishing on notes of liquorice and subtle smoke.
