Craigellachie 16 Year Old 2008 Hidden Spirits 60.9% 70cl
Craigellachie is something of a Speyside icon, a rich, robust single malt made using worm tub condensers for that alluringly grubby edge. And this release, a sherry cask from Italian independent bottler Hidden Spirits, has well and truly harnessed that character. It’s jammy and rich, with dark chocolate, cloves and hazelnuts, all set in a waxy texture and underscored with a deep earthiness. Delicious stuff.
