This wine faithfully reflects the contributions made by generations of grape growing families to Rockford and the Barossa. Their knowledge, tenacity and commitment to the land ensure Semillon – a pioneer Barossa variety – has a viable future.
Because the grapes are hand picked, bunches are selected at different levels of ripeness. The early-picked grapes add acidity whilst the later-season ones bring more ripeness and fruitiness. The wine is matured in barrel and the combination of different sized oak casks, when finally blended, comes together to make a complex, textured and mouth-filling wine.
Tasting note: A subtly barrel-fermented dry white that offers zippy lemon curd and lime with delicate floral notes and a lively acidity. A well balanced and beautifully textured white.
