A third generation family owned winery, growing grapes on the fertile soils along the east side of Seneca Lake. Today they have over 119 acres of planted vineyards separated into more than 20 different vineyard blocks, planted predominantly on Honeoye Silt Loam and Lansing Gravely Loam soils. These holdings are managed using only sustainable winegrowing practices, to yield the finest lots of expressive and dynamic cool-climate varietals.
The wines, including those in their sparkling program, are all produced and bottled in house using estate-grown fruit, ensuring maximum control of grape quality and wine integrity.
Lamoreaux Landing are first and foremost growers. They are also a New York winery with deep roots in the Finger Lakes, and a commitment to the long-term health of the land and the people who call the Finger Lakes home. Lamoreaux are dedicated to sound environmental management practices, which minimize the use of synthetic fungicides, pesticides, fertilizers, fuel, energy and waste.
Determined to protect the environment with advanced renewable energy, the winery completed the installation of a 90 KW solar array in 2016 to provide 100% of their electrical energy needs. Converting solar power on the estate offsets 120,000 pounds or 60 tons of CO2 annually.
Tasting Notes
This multi-dimensional off-dry, lush Riesling is intriguing and complex with Meyer lemon on the nose and a hint of almond. The creamy texture reveals ripe Granny Smith apple on the palate, ending with a long, smooth finish.
Perfect for garlic prawns, maybe throw in a load of fresh ginger too.
