2020 Cantine Povero Priore Barolo

This 2020 Cantine Povero Priore is a prestigious Barolo that epitomises the noble spirit of Nebbiolo, delivering an energizing and full-flavoured wine that commands attention and admiration.

The winemaking process employs modern precision while respecting traditional techniques. Fermentation takes place in thermoconditioned stainless steel vats at 26°C over 12 to 15 days, ensuring a controlled extraction of flavours. Subsequent maturation in oak barrels refines the structure and balance of the wine, capturing the essence of the Nebbiolo grape in its purest form.

This Barolo stands out for its intense garnet red colour and an elegant bouquet that masterfully balances powerful tannins with lively acidity. The wine unfolds with enticing aromas of viola, wild rose, sambuco, cinnamon, anise, leather, and a hint of goudron, intermingled with subtle reminiscences of Langhe truffles, dried mushrooms, and hazelnut. On the palate, it is warm, dry, earthy, and full-bodied, making it a compelling tribute to the venerable vineyards and the timeless traditions of the region.

Pairing Suggestions: Exquisitely paired with roast goose, pork guanciale al Barolo, tagliatelle al tartufo, hearty meat stews, game dishes, and robust cheeses like Castelmagno or Toma.

Tasting Note: Intense garnet red with aromas of viola, wild rose, sambuco, cinnamon, anise, leather, and goudron; the palate is warm, dry, and earthy with layers of truffle, dried mushroom, and hazelnut, culminating in a full, persistent finish.
