🍷 Ailalá – Sousón, Ribeiros do Avia
Spain | Galicia | Ribeiro DO | Sousón, Brancellao, Caiño Longo, Ferrón
Style: Still Red Wine
Winemaking: Vinified with minimal intervention to highlight the expression of native Galician red varieties. Fermentation in stainless steel followed by brief ageing to preserve freshness and aromatic precision
Farming: Grown in granitic soils along the Avia River valley, where Atlantic breezes, steep vineyard slopes, and old vines create wines of brightness, energy, and authenticity
🌿 A vibrant Galician red—wild, juicy, and uniquely expressive.
👁 In the Glass:
Deep violet with youthful purple edges—lively and unfiltered in tone.
👃 On the Nose:
Fresh and lifted. Aromas of redcurrant, wild berries, violets, and peppery herbs, with a touch of balsamic and earthy minerality.
👅 On the Palate:
Lively and medium-bodied. Tart cherry, cranberry, and red plum dance across a frame of zippy acidity and soft tannins. A savoury, slightly spicy finish adds depth and intrigue.
🍽 Food Pairing:
Perfect with Galician octopus, grilled sardines, roast duck, or mushroom empanadas. A wine that shines with rustic fare and tapas-style dishes.
⏳ Ageing Potential:
Best enjoyed young—within 3–4 years—to capture its pure fruit and vibrant personality.
✨ Why You’ll Love It:
Ailalá Sousón is Galicia in a bottle—unfiltered, energetic, and full of native charm. For lovers of fresh reds with soul, spice, and regional character, this is a true hidden gem.
